i use an 800 number to access an overseas calling service
it then recognizes my cell phone number so i don't need to punch in any
account info
i think there is a 5 to 10 second wait after the 800 number answers before i
can punch in the overseas number
how do i automate this on my phone so i don't have to manually dial the
overseas number
thanks

Re: v3 - how to chain calling card calls
Dial the 800 number and press menu to add Pauses or a Wait and then dial
the overseas number and press STORE. A pause is 2 seconds so you'll
have to add a string of them but once you have it right it's fully
automatic. A Wait requires you to press Send again to continue the dial
string.
8005552368ppppppp+632919812345 would call the 800 number, pause for 14
seconds and then dial the rest of the numbers with DTMF (touch-tones).
8005552368w+632919812345 dials the 800 number and waits. When you hear
the prompt from your calling card carrier, you press send to dial the
rest of the numbers with DTMF.
If you call more than one overseas number you can use an N instead of
the phone number and the phone will prompt you to select a number from
the Phonebook.
8005552368wn or 8005552368pppppppn
To get to the p, w & n, press & hold the * button or press the Menu
button.
I don't know why Motorola doesn't include these instructions in the
manual or on their website anymore. The only people that seem to know
about this are old farts like me who've been using Moto phones for 20
years. BTW, Moto has been amazingly consistent (or just lazy) in keeping
the same menu structure in place for all these years.
Hope this helps.

Re: v3 - how to chain calling card calls
thanks Bruce
i sort of remember the pauses but not the others
i can enter the w in my edit screen but when i save the number the w
disappears.
any ideas
i just put in 4 p's and those survived the edit screen so i might just use
those instead and adjust the number of p's with experimentation
by the way all i had to do was hold the star key until the correct symbol
appeared.
didn't need the menu button
thanks

Re: v3 - how to chain calling card calls
IIRC, the 'w' will only work if you store the number to the phone - not
to the SIM. I just tried it on my v3i and I was able to save it to the
Phonebook and then use it with no problem.
