I find that the volume & operation are fine, but it's difficult to keep this
little critter on my ear. The rubber/plastic, I'm guessing in an "effort" to
avoid irritating the ear, is just too soft and flimsy.

Any suggestions, short of using a rubber band?

I was able to pop off the rubber ear cushion from my HS850. That helped
somewhat. Still kind of flops around at times.

Once I get my 850 into position, I grab the center part and pull it forward
a little, stretching the rubberoid ear loop a bit, and then let the center
return to normal. Seems to situate it a tiny bit better.

Thanks! I'll have to give that a try.

    I have news.

Today my 850 started giving a funny buzzing noise. I took it to the Verizon
store and exchanged it under warranty with no hassles.

THE NEW ONE FITS BETTER. MUCH better than the old one.

Let me suggest that anyone considering the purchase of an 850 ask to try on
a few of them before picking one. Those with real fit problems might consider
asking them to exchange it just for the fit; don't know if they'll go for that,
but I imagine a nice tone of voice combined with a complaint that it keeps
falling off your ear might get them to consider a swap.
