Bring da band on down, behind me, boyz..

Just got my V3i, from Cingular.

It's charging now, but I have to beg a few
answers from the folks here. Ready?

1: itunes will allow me to install my .mp3 files
off my PC (winXP)..right? Any help here? I have over
1000 disks of .mp3's, and to be honest, have no need
to have a collection on my phone, I'm just curious.

2: What program will allow me to change my ring tones?

3: Will same said program allow me to d/l pix from camera 2 PC..?

9: Am I acting too much as a newbie..?

I went thru this with my old Razor, and had no problems
'flashing' etc with said programs. B4 I hurt my new phone,
I want to make sure I'm doing it right the 1st time.

Thanx everyone for sharing your info.

Did your Razr V3i come with a Razr to USB cable? If so, plug it in, and
it's all drag and drop after that.

Sure did. I was amazed at the stuff it came with, headset, USB,
etc. Just activated it. Reception improved 1000%. B4, I had 2
bars..now full tilt. AMAZING little toy. Free to boot.

Thanx for the reply, I'll play with it later,
knowing I won't ruin it. Bless ya cotton sox..

Glad you like it, but more bars may just mean Motorola decided to change
what signal gives 4 bars. Cellular carriers like that. Makes for fewer
support calls if folks always have 4 bars.

Maybe..but reception IS better then my old Razr.

BTW..Upgrading to iTunes 7.0 is a no no, as 7.0
no longer sees the phone. Un-installed 7, put
back 6, all is well again. NOW if I can just find
out what 'powertools' type program will let me use
..mp3 for ring tones, and change wallpaper. OF course,
    I'll be studying: http://www.planetmotox.net/

    Thanks again for the help...

Mobile Phone Tools will let you do what you want or you can just add MP3
files in Sounds and use them for ringtoones. MPT has a nice utility for
making MP3 ringtone snippets. There is a lso a SEEM edit to allow
ringtones from the TF card as well.

Thanx, I have MPT, but was told it would not work on V3i.

Haven't tried it yet, as one should have a FULL charged battery
B4 using MPT, and the phone is now o/nite charged.

AGAIN, thanks to everybody for the help.

Whoever told you that just made that up. In fact, the non-branded retail
package includes a disk with MPT. I got my v3i last December and have
been using it with MPT with no problems. I've also flashed an update
and made SEEM edits to make it perform just the way I like. Nine months
later Cingular has decided to start offering it - just in time to be
made "last year's news" with the upcoming release of the Razr Maxx and
the just released (in UK at least) Krzr. See:

Interesting, but at the price I got these 2 V3i's at,
and more important, they solved my reception problem,
I cannot *****. New toys out every 18 months or less.

    Thanks for the links..

I'd buy one of those if I could get them today...(:-o)!

While we're on buying, how does one go about getting a decent phone
and decent service w/o buying yet another service account? I bought
two RAZR's a couple of years ago--locked of course! Now I see pairs
of phones being offered with service plans that are less for both
    than our individual costs.

My wife dropped hers, and needs a new phone (the phone works but the
internal display doesn't). I'll be damned if I can find someplace
that will let me purchase 2-differently colored phones of the same
model (we had them the same & too often walked off with the wrong
one...(:-o)!) without a confiscatory price or the requirement to get
    new service.

Any thoughts anybody reading here might have would be most
    appreciated...

Re: Just got my Motorola V3i

I usually buy my phones on ebay and they are shipped from Hong Kong. As
an "early adopter" of new phones I do pay more for them but they are
unlocked and usually bundled with all the goodies. BTW, the Krzr is
    available to purchase now.

Yes, it will see the phone with windows, but most of the songs won't play on
    the phone.
