I have Mobile Phone Tools 4.0.4b on my PC and would like to backup all
the data on my PC as I plan to reformat it and re-install MPT. More
specifically, I need to backup the text messages I have transferred
from my Motorola mobile phone to my PC using the 'Inbox' function on
    MPT.

I have found the folder containing my PC inbox here: C:\Documents and
    Settings\All Users\Application Data\BVRP Software\Motorola Phone
    Tools\PCINBOX\PCINBOX.cah

Is it a simple case of copying this folder onto a cd and transferring
it back onto the PC after I've done the reformat and re-install of MPT?
Or are there other import procedures required?

Thanks. What I had to do was create a new folder within the Inbox view
of MPT with the same name as the one that was previously on my PC
before the reformat. Then I exited MPT and copied the .cah file from my
backup CD to my PC overwriting the newly created .cah file.

There were no read only issues.
