    Greetings all!

I will soon be purchasing a Motorola KRZR K1m (from Alltel) and my question
is a simple one: What is the largest known microSD/TransFlash card that is
supported by the Motorola KRZR K1m? 512MB? 1GB? 2GB? I would really like to
be able to be able to utilize a 2GB version so that I can use the KRZR as my
    "poor man's" iPod.
FWIW I have researched this question on Motorola's website to no avail.

For reference, I will probably be purchasing the microSD/TransFlash card
    from Newegg:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...k=&srchInDesc=

Thank you very much in advance for your assistance!

UPDATE: I did check phonescoop for the answer:
    http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=1005
No real answer on capacity on the KRZR K1m as you can see.
However, Phonescoop.com does say that the KRZR *K1* (non-Alltel version)
    will accept 2GB cards: http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=1007.

    K1, K1m.... compatible?

    Thanks for the info!
For the record though, your advice does not definitively answer my question.
The phone that is shown at the URL you providel is the KRZR K1 which is a
GSM phone. I was excruciatingly specific as to the fact that I am getting
the KRZR K1m <--(note: different from K1) which is a CDMA phone. Did even
you read the last line of my posting that asked: "K1, K1m.... compatible?".
I said that because I was not wanting to purchase a 2GB microSD/TransFlash
card, thinking that it would be compatible when in fact it was not.

I did read *all* of your posting and noted the CDMA bit. Whether or not
you're a CDMA or GSM owner the memory card should work. The inclusive 64MB
card works okay? So should the 2Gig. I buy and use Sandisk, reliable and
cheaper than some brands, though only a 512MB in my V3i.

Not necessarily. Depends on the particular product. Some products can
only handle up to 1 GB CD cards. Others no more than 2 GB. Others more
than 2 GB. In part because of file system issues. In other words, it's
    a valid concern.

You can find a Topram 1GB MicroSD Card that is guaranteed to work with
the KRZR from www.edigitalexpress.com. Use their Topram Cell Phone and
PDA memory finder application to view all of the compatibile cards for
    your phone.

Those of you with even brand new laptop computers from all manufacturers
might be interested in going to this Australian forum for a URL and
instructions, too. The FIRST message in the thread at the top has what
you need. Not a single laptop at Circuit City, Best Buy, The Dell Kiosk
in the mall or 3 independent PC shops I tested could read my 4GB RiData
SD card, even though all the desktop PCs read it fine. It seems the
laptops all use a Texas Instruments reader IC. The drivers for it are
dated 2000 or 2002, back when the biggest SD card was 512KB and they have
never been updated since. TI says they don't do drivers for any
products, so I called Ritek in Taiwan and talked to a very helpful
engineer who pointed me to this forum's instructions. Sabercomputers is
where the actual driver is downloaded from for free. You must also,
following the instructions, change one or two Registry keys with regedit
from 16 to 0, and do a reboot. After the reboot, the laptop will say the
card needs formatting. Let the driver format the big cards and they work
perfect in the laptop and all the desktops, even gaining some more space
    from reduced overhead!

Big SD cards read fine in Dell's crappy X51V PDA I had to return because
WM5 wasn't stable, but won't read in any Dell laptop, Gateway laptop, HP,
Compaq, Sony, Acer, Toshiba, etc....brand new in the store. Gateway
support has the information. I fed it to them.

If you're looking for big SD cards from a great company that gives you a
lifetime warranty, RiData cards (4GB for $57 from newegg.com last time I
looked) from Ritek work fantastic in everything that has a driver that
supports them. Not sure about the phones....

No sense trying to put stuff from the phones on a big SD card into a
laptop that won't read it....This fixes that problem, first class.
