Is there any inexpensive way to increase the indoor signal strength in my
house? I just moved in, and cell phone reception sucks, no mater who the
carrier is. You have to go near a window, or step outside sometimes just to
get a signal. Apparently this town (Gibbstown NJ) is known for poor cell
phone reception, even though there is a cell tower/water tower less than a
mile away. I even called Cingular/AT&T, and according to there "map" it
should be great, but it sucks all around this town. I told them they should
look into it (Ha Ha)!!! Everywhere else in the PA, NJ, Del area my phone
works great!!! I travel all the time, and it usually works everywhere. I
don't get it???
I read a lot of posts on this site, and it seams like there are some pretty
intelligent people on here. I thought maybe somebody might have some ideas
they would be willing to share. I know they sell amplifiers and other
equipment, but I was trying to avoid the expense at this time. Any and all
help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
---Dave---

Thank you!

Miracles require a little more than just intelligence.

The solutions available would appear to be:
a. Move!
b. Use an external antenna (If your phone allows such a thing.)
c. Buy or rent and install an amplifier or repeater.

Does your house, by any chance, have aluminum siding?

No, but there are REASONABLY priced ways:
http://cellantenna.com/repeater/cae50.htm
http://www.wilsonelectronics.com/Lis...cts.php?Type=7
I have the CAE50 installed in my mobile electronics shop built into an old
Air Force stepvan. When I can't get a signal OUTSIDE, I simply step into
the van and make the call INSIDE with 50 db more gain.
It makes a real difference.
