    I've a T191 it's having the same problems. Occasionally it's backlight will
    come on for around 10-15 seconds but nothing else happens. Did you manage to
    fix it? CPW wants £30 or £75 (depending on what's wrong) to repair it.

    On further playing around with the handset I find that it if I leave the
    battery off for 10 minutes or so then when it's re-connected the handset
    vibrates for a split second and the light comes on and goes off.

    Sometimes the backlight gradually brightens until it reaches it's normal
    brightness and then goes off after 10-15 seconds.

    Weird!

    Mine doesn't even do that, and if CPW wants that much for a repair, I
    don't think it's worth it. I'll probably just get a new phone. I'm now
    looking at the Sony Ericsson T310. Good luck with yours, though.
