I have a data cable that was included in an aftermarket accessory purchase
for the Motorola V60i. Are there any alternative software progrmas to the
Motorola that won't force me to buy the whole Motorola kit with the cable
and software? Seems kind of redundant to buy the cable again for the price
they want.
FYI - just want to manage numbers - not use to connect to web from
computer.
Thanks for any info.......

Re: Data Software - V60i
I am not sure what you mean by "manage numbers", but you can download
software that allows you to transfer files with you data cable. Do a
google search for Motorola PST or gagin. I have the motorola data cable
and really the only software is comes with it is TruSync which syncs
with outlook.

There are definitely alternatives to the Motorola sanctioned Truesync
software.
I use a program called datapilot, and I'm quite satisfied with it, see
http://www.datapilot.com for more info.
There's also another program out there called Snapsync, i've seen this
software and data cable in CompUsa and in
Radio Shack, see http://www.futuredial.com also for more info.
The standard usb cable that motorola offers is supposedly incompatible with
these 2 programs.
The data cable that the above companies offer is identical and will work for
either program (datapilot/snapsync)
Hope this helps
