Motorola v120 vs Nokia 5100 series

I'm trying to decide which of these phone to get and am having trouble with
the battery specs. Can anyone explain why Motorola's standby and talk time
are nearly three times that of the Nokia's. Is it that Motorola has
developed a much more fficient battery/chio combo than Nokia or is it that
The power requirements are less because the Motorola's output wattage is
less (which would result in more dropped calls, etc...)?

Any relevant feedback is welcome

The TracFone nokia 5165 (TDMA) has more stand-by time than the 5180i (CDMA)
and they both use the same battery (900 mAh)..

The size of the battery on the 120c and 120t TracFone(s) is 1100mAh.

Nokia makes a 1500 mAh battery for the 5100 series phones too by the way.

The 120c is trimode and the 5180i is dual mode.

Recent Motorola phones have much better power-management. They get quite a
bit of performance out of their battery. However, the more you talk, the
less of an advantage you get. But yes, the v120's are now among the best
phones for battery life, for the size.

Recent Motorola phones have much better power-management. They get quite a
bit of performance out of their battery. However, the more you talk, the
less of an advantage you get. But yes, the v120's are now among the best
phones for battery life, for the size.

We purchased Verizon service with 10 free V-120 phones for our
employees. I am now trying to get the phones replaced as they don't
work well. This is not an occasional problem and is causing
communication problems with staff in the field. Not only is it
impossible to place many calls, but if a call does connect, it is
dropped repeatedly. I cannot use the phone from my home in Springfield
Illinois at all.

We have found that the V-120 is only usable if the caller is very
close to a cell tower. In side by side tests of this phone; in the
same location where the V-120 does not work, a cell phone with an
antennae (i.e. LG LX-4400, Motorola T-720, Audiovox CDM-9000, Motorola
V2260)) will work on the Verizon network.
