Many people complain of poor battery life (120 mins) slow menus, bad
reception, and other issues in the t720 hence it's low rating.
The new t730 for Verizon is supposed to fix all this, but reports have
only started to emerge.
Anyone know what GSM or CDMA t720 series phones have revisions to their
firmware that fix these problems?
Are old t720's upgradeable?
Thanks

Yes Verizon did upgrade my 720 to the "730" firmware/software
I don't know about problems, I have not had the phone a long time. I do notice
odd things with the menus, like having all listings instead of primary. (I exit
go back into the phone book and it is just primary again) I don't use the
phone much, but I don't have a problem with dropped calls.

Still have problems with dropped calls even after the upgrade eh? Sounds
like the t720 is just cursed forever.
Who is your provider btw?

Re: Bugs fixed in T720 series?
I am totally dissatisfied with the T730. As a cell phone it works great,
but every morning after charging the cell overnight, I get a black
screen and in order to get my cell to boot up, I have to take the
battery out and put it back in. After doing some research, I found that
this problem has existed since the T720.
This cell should of never been released by Motorola until this problem
was solved. I guess Motorola is beta-testing their cells with the
consumers.
I'm not bashing Motorola as I had a Startac for over 2 years and never
had a problem.
Needless to say, I'm returning the cell phone today and getting
the LG6000.
Hope this helps.

It is a known issue, and AFAIK they exchange the charger. Seems its
output current is to low. When I started the charger from the A830 for
my T720 this stopped, the A830 charger can deliver 1.1 amps, compared
to the 0.4 amps of the T720-charger.

I will stay with Mot, they make still great phones. I am just missing
a black phone...all the phones are silver or coloured and look like
toys I am missing my MicroTAC...
