Just found out the hard way about something, can't believe it's normal:

Changing the speed dial location of existing phonebook entries deletes the
contact that previously occupied that location!

A speed dial location is a spot in the phone's memory. If you
"associate" a new entry with a speed dial number, you are actually
putting that entry in a phone memory location, thereby overwriting the
old one. If you sort your phonebook by speed dial number, rather than
name, you'll get a better feel for what you're doing.

Reorganizing a phonebook can be a major hassle. I download the entire
book, organize offline, then upload back to the phone. I try not to
mess with it too much, since I have speed numbers memorized. So I
build in gaps. 1-28 for friends, then 40-59 for bizzes, then 70-96
for biz ppl, etc. So when I add a number to say the biz section, I
don't get a catastrophic rearrangement of speed numbers up and down
the line; I stick it at 60, maybe rearrange within the biz section
only, and everything else is unchanged.

Thanks Doug. How do you do that - with TruSync or DataSync, etc?

I use Motorola servicing software, called "PST." It's a programmer's
tool, with absolutely no polish and not meant for general public use.
But since I flash and flex phones too, I use it for everything.

    http://www.portalgsm.ru/modules/mydo...cat.php?cid=32 for
downloading. Called "PST 6.0 + patch."

Thanks, is that in English? I didn't see the Windows compatibility
indication, as there is with some other files on that page, and the file had
an "*.rar" extension, which I am not familiar with.

I think all of them are in english. To download WinRAR, here is the
    hyperlink:

    http://www.rararchiver.com/download.html

A lot of people on the internet use RAR archiver, it has a better
    compression ratio that ZIP.
