Unlock Codes?? Sheesh!!!??

I live in Saskatchewan where paraplegics can get a special airtime package
through Sasktel ...there is one catch...we do not get a discount on the cell
phone and must pay full price for the cell phone. This is not possible for
me to do at this time and if I save up for a year or so I may be able to get
a phone if the price keeps dropping? A buddy has an old Motorola StarTac
that was on a different carrier Telus...and if I can get a thing called an
unlock code for the phone they can...for a small fee....program a Sasktel
number into the cell. So, they told me I had to go to Telus and get the
unlock code....so I did....telus refused to help me and said that the only
way they could unlock the phone was if I signed up with them and and bought
a contract with them...well that is just nutz!!!!!!!!....then he laughed at
me and sent me on my way....needless to say I am more than just a little bit
pissed off!!! So I thought that if I turned to the internet I might be able
to get more then I did from the jerk at telus!?!?!

So if anyone could please help me out or direct me to where I need to go I
would really appreciate it!!!
