    CINGULAR PLANS $80 Million UPGRADE!!
In the second stage of an infrastructure upgrade, Cingular Wireless will add
more than 200 cell sites in Georgia to provide better coverage on its
    advanced network.
This portion of the project will cost the Atlanta company $80 million.
Earlier this year, Cingular spent $200 million in the Peach state. Nearly
half the new sites should be operational by year's end, with the expansion
    to continuing through 2004.

Patrick Foarde, a spokesman for Cingular, said the company does not release
specifics about equipment types and vendors.

Doesn't mean much to those of us who don't live in Georga or travel to
Georgia. Probably should have been posted to an Atlanta newsgroup.

This is great news to folks who live in that area. As for those on the
West coast the question still remains as to when Cingular will expand &
    upgrade their system here.

Cingular also bought up spectrum worth tens of millions in several
markets as well. Nothing new, they're just more vocal about it then
other providers, because they NEED it more, and are trying to basically
say "We know our coverage sucks, this is what we're doing"! AT&T is in
the prossess of adding 3000 cell sites all over the country in the next
    year!

Chris, does the fact that the $80 million comes out of the parent Cingular
and stock holders may be interested in where the companies money is going?
Or how it is being handled? Or that the company has intentions that may be a
start of other projects. Lets see newsgroup. Cingular newsgroup. News about
Cingular? Yes, I think it fits.

What a clown. Where do we find these people? Chris we will send you pieces

It means that upgrading is not happening in Michigan where I would give
a damn about it. And I do have the right to post any response I want to
make to a posting. I think the stockholders will get the information
through other company channels and not through newsgroups. I'll be glad
to clear the items like this are really only regionally applicable.

Not quite all over the country. ATT is concentrating on mostly the
