    happy new year people.

I bought my self a Motorola E365 on the 23rd of December and have only been
able to get the GPRS to connect once, I think the GPRS is connected as the G
is showing on the display but it just seems to be a dud connection all the
    time.

All I seem to get are error messages telling me that the 'network is down'
or 'GPRS unavailable make a direct dial connection.'

I've tried getting things sent to me from the internet and from friends but
all i get is a green envelope icon on the left hand of the screen, next to
where the G appears to denote a connection. It alsoo gives me a little
message received jingle when a green icon appears, not the jingle or icon
that i get when i receive an SMS a diffrent one.

I now can;t get rid of the green box, its as if i need the bloody GPRS to
work properly so that i can look at whatever has been sent and get rid of
    it.

I spent 45 mins on the phone to orange going through all my GPRS and WAP
settings to no avail, the operator didn;t even know what the green icon i
was describing was. He also toold me there was no problems with GPRS in my
    postcode area!

I can send pictures to people via mms and they get them without having to go
through a link to the net, when they send them to me i just end up with the
    trouble i just descibed above!

Anyone know what the green icon is and what kind of problems that Orange
have maintaining their GPRS service? and what i can do about it? save
getting a sim from another company or throwing my cute new little phone at
    the wall?

again happy new year and thanks for any help!

Re: GPRS troubles on an E365.

I have the same phone and the same problem. I have been searching
newsgroups and think I have found a solution.

Apparently it is a problem with the sim card not being setup correctly
regarding GPRS. To rectify the problem you have to phone Orange (451
option2 option1) and get them to update the sim.

I haven't tried this yet, as it is ridiculously late and Orange don't
    seem to be home.

I don't supose anyone knows how to turn off the crappy jingle it plays
when switched on or off? I have tried everything and am getting funny
    looks at uni.

    Cheers
