I recently got my i730 and the usb data cable for it. I also have the myJAL
program from http://members.cox.net/myteam and trying to use it to upload
..gif images for wallpapers. I do my resizing and cropping, upload, and the
program tells me that the upload was successfully but I can't find them on
the phone with the rest of the wallpapers (stock and download OTA from
nextel). Is there an option I'm missing somewhere?

Re: more questions about i730 and wallpapers
Make sure that when you name the file it does not exceed 16
characters, including the .gif extension. Also,.gif must be typed in lower
case.Pictures uploaded on the i730 MUST be 130x130 non interlaced.Go thru
your wallpaper list and make sure to and delete any wallpaper you don`t
like,as this takes up space for your incoming wallpaper. Not sure how many
you can have, but if at the end of the download you don`t get any
warning/failure messages, probably is you have one too many wallpaper keeping
you from seeing your latest download.

Re: more questions about i730 and wallpapers
Ok, I'm doing the 130 x 130 with all lower case letters, including
extension, and all characters totaling less than 16. The "interlaced" box
in the save dialog is not checked, so that should be ok. I also have the
choice of header types 89A and 87A, but not sure if that makes a difference.
The only papers on the phone are the 3 originals, plus 1 download OTA from
nextel with original ring tones, so space on the phone shouldn't be an issue
either.

RE: more questions about i730 and wallpapers
I think they need to be less than 160000bytes or they will b to big for it to process, I have also wasted memory by uploading pics to big.

Re: more questions about i730 and wallpapers
Well, I finally got a few of them to work and it would seem the size limit
mentioned there about 16K is true... can upload but not see any above that,
but under 16K seem to work fine. Should have checked that first : )

Re: more questions about i730 and wallpapers
I only get connection problems with webJAL, if it crashes while i'm
connected to the phone. Then have to pull the usb plug, which doesn't seem
to hurt anything since the program has crashed and i'm not in a transfer,
and plug it back in. Win XP makes that dumb noise again when you plug in a
device and all is well until the next crash.
