Carribean cruise coverage

Does Nextel serve the areas of Cancun, Cozumel, Belize City, and Roatan
Island in the western Carribena? We are going on a cruise in April and were
wondering if anyone knew of Nextel's coverage in these areas of the western
Carribean.

This NG may provide us an answer faster than calling Nextel.

Nextel doesn't work for **** ON land, why would you think it would work
off-shore?

Open ocean water is a good transmitter of RF Signals. They bounce off the
surface. Like gold being the best conductor for electricity.
