Who do I talk to at Nextel? I'm working in Apollo Beach, Fl, and there
approx. 1000 homes being built in just the one subdivision I work in.
Service is barely existant at best.
I lost my temper and hurled my last phone into a dumpster due to the
complete lack of service. (not into, but directly into the side at a high
rate of speed.)
We're no more than 5 miles from the interstate. It's just an absolute black
hole as far as IDEN is concerned.

Nextel has heard it before. They have "holes" everywhere, really sucks in
California.
Nextel doesn't care, never has, never will. If you ***MUST*** have direct
connect, then stay with them, if not go with a GOOD provider.
As far as the damage to the handset, you lost it (the handset)...pay the
deductable and get a new (refurb) or go with someone like Verizon.
Nextel=NEXT TIME...next time I will get a REAL phone.

Re: How to complain about extremely poor reception
Here is a inside scoop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Each time a customer calls to complain about service, they are logged as to
where the location is. Don't believe that Nextel doesn't care...They do. But
in the same token if for everytime a customer called to complain about
service Nextel just went and put up a tower, they would go bankrupt. The
average cost of a tower runs anywhere from 250,000. to 500,000. Here is the
trick, every year the powers to be looks at a list of no signal issues and
if there is one location that people keeps calling about with no
service....a tower location is proposed there. Of course then Nextel has to
figure out if there is a location to put up a site on. Then they have to
figure out if
there are Freqs. available for that market area. All these factors cost
money...the way Nextel looks at it is ..lets says if 10,000 people calls a
year about a certain area then that is 10,000 customers they are loosing
money on and another thing that factoring in if not the same, maybe a little
more. That is the sale reps.......the sales reps with enough customers
stating they would like to go to Nextel or they are dropping service because
of this area....That gets looked at quicker. But the thing is allot of Sales
Reps don't take the time to do that.
The moral of the story is Customers either new or current makes money, but
building out a site cost money so to have to have a medium where you will
eventually make money on a site.

Nextel thinks if you complain you are probably making it up for some reason
and you are a fool for not having any brains. If you don't read all the
fine print you get what you deserve and are stupid. Even thought they
themselves can not interpret the fine print themselves. The best thing to
do it post your complaints as they are and know that others will read them
and see through all the Nextel trolls for the low lives that they are. I
will be specific and post the names of the people I speak with when they are
feeding me their crap. I will be posting the name and cell number of the
last liar that I spoke to in another post. She sounded so sweet with the
deal she offered providing me with her 'personal' cell number but when I
tried to call many times there was no answer. Plenty of stories here that
are all the truth and I encourage others to post similar encounters so more
people will become aware of the practices these slimy slippery toads.
Nextel has the worst coverage and more drop outs than any of the other
provides I use.
The truth will hurt as it should and then and only then will these gougers
mend their ways. Everyone knows that not soon enough the feds will step in
and force them to use fair trade in their sales. Any organization that has
not been regulated well enough will always be corrupt.

Good post.
The coverage here in Southern New England equally sucks. Best coverage of
all is the tracfone I have then Verizon and the others with NexTime dead
last.

Wow John, so much hate. You may want to see someone about that, it can't be
good for your health....
I can sympathize with the reception issues. You should have seen what was
left of my i1000+ when it hit a cinderblock wall after I dropped yet another
call without having moved more than 5 feet. It wasn't pretty and it was
expensive...

I always have to go outside to make calls as do all the others that I work
with that are unfortunate enough to have Nextel. They too will be dropping
Nextel like a bad cell call as soon as they can. Poor Nextel trolls are
getting their fag asses kicked tonight, hey?

Another vote. Nextel SUCKS and I can't agree here more. All is true as
posted about the misleading practices and downright lies.

Now these Nextel people will laugh at you. If you are unhappy it HAS to be
you. Can't possibly be anything wrong with Nextel that's for sure.
