    I can always understand the employees defending any company. After
    all, it's their ass in the sling, right up until the pink slips are
    delivered.

    What has always amazed me is the staunch defenders amoung the
    CUSTOMERS, come hell or high water, even if a particular company
    really sucks. There'll still be those customer defenders, even way
    past the Chapter 7 bankruptcy has been finalized......????

    About what? I'm just curious what changed. Nextel has a reputation
    (well-deserved, or not, they still have a reputation) for not providing
    good service. I've heard mostly good things from the people I happen to
    know on ATTWS.

    In the three weeks since I switched to Nextel from VZW, I've found Nextel's
    CS to be very good.

    vzw customer service is getting almost as bad as sprints customer
    service,they are getting into lying about things they tell you.say one
    thing and really is something else.not what they told you.tell you,you
    have 15 days to return or exchange a phone and they dont stand behind
    it.even though it is in writing.but lawsuit can handle that situation
    easy. nextel probably has made cutomer service so as to look better than
    verizon wireless.not hard to do.

    What has always amazed me is how some customers constantly ***** about
    the network, policies, employees and company in general but still keep
    using the service year after year. MB

    My own view (based on use of service and customer service) is that AT&T
    fell because of their lousy GSM implementation. In addition, there is a
    well-publicized goal internally at ATTWS that they should focus first
    on profit. Unfortunately, this can sometimes have a negative impact on
    customer service. There have been posts that show a vast change in
    AT&T's customer handling over the past year.

    I cannot comment on Nextel, though I do believe they outsourced their
    customer care during this period. I could be wrong about the timeframe,
    however.

    If I may ask, how many times have you called them and for what reason?

    They can handle a lot of things. The things they can't handle seem to fall
    off into a deep hole sometimes IMHO.

    They all cut corners on sutomer service, so one needs to make sure you
    end up in a situation where you won't need "Customer disservice".
