I will be leaving Verizon soon. Any idea if the plans will change
    soon(October)?

    Re: rate plan changes

I would tend to think that in October and November, when the cellular
carriers are going to be forced by law to allow a customer to move his/her
cell number to another carrier, that you are going to see a massive change
in some rate plans in order to keep a customer base.

The last quarter of the year is usually a good time to get a deal.
Carriers are looking to pump up their numbers before the end of the
year. Go to a Nextel owned office, tell them your interested in
switching and if there are any good promo's. The reps know what promo's
are coming out for the next month, just call at the beginning of every
month to find out. I got a good promo on my wife's phone that way,
650 min/mo. unlimited local DC, long distance, voicemail, etc. for
$39.95/mo. The promo may only be good for the first yr. then the bonus
min. drop off and the price goes up. If that happens, you can usually
keep the promo package and price by renewing your contract for another
yr. You can also attempt to negotiate for some more perks at the same
time. I'm very satisfied with Nextel. Good luck!

That's a great price. Is it the only phone on the plan? I'm paying $29.99
+ taxes for 325 min with T-Mobil & I can't even use my phone at my residence
because of lousy signal plus I get charged to call my cell number from my
home. - I'm getting ready to make the switch to Nextel. The best deals I
can find these days seem to be on Amazon. Free i60 & i90 phones, although
the activation fee is $35 there is free shipping.
