OK, so I shot my mouth off about Motorola being responsible for Nextel
Warranty work. The fix to that is, read the manual. It DOES say Motorola
is responsible. Well, I think that's a nice kettle of fish. Nextel sells
the unit then makes their customers go after the manufacturer. I guess I
just don't understand the logic in that. On top of all this I also read
that batteries have a 1 year warranty. My battery died after 7 mos. I
just went to the Nextel sales office that I bought my phone at and they
said there is NO warranty on batteries, please pay $50, thank you very
much. Guess I need to take my manual down to the sales person and
familiarize them with their own warranty. I think its time to switch to a
new carrier. Lets see, I've already done Verizon and bailed on them to
Nextel. Sprint audio sounds terrible so I don't want to go there. Maybe
before I jump this time I'll read cell groups to see what company
provides honest service.

Motorola direct is very good about batteries actually. I send 2 way
radio batteries to them all the time with 2 weeks left on the 1 year
warranty and they send me back NEW replacements no questions asked. The
only problem is that you need to have an extra one while the other is in
the mail.

If you don't grow some cods and stand up for your rights, what
will you do when you get to the last company in your area and they
piss on you like all the others did, just give up having a mobil phone?

I am a Motorola Two Way dealer.If I sell you a new Motorola radio unit,it is
under a certain parts and labor warranty,1-3 years depending on the
model.Nextel phones are covered under a 1 year standard warranty.The
warranty begins when Nextel sells you the phone.The battery is also under
the warranty.Calling 1 800 927 2744 will put you in touch with Motorola
Warranty Group.I have used them 7 times for warranty repairs on Nextel units
that Nextel Service Centers could not fix.I ave also sent in about 12
batteries which Motorola replaced at no cost since they were newer than one
year.
On top of all this I also read

Some sub-agents do not know all the angles of Motorola Warranty standards.I
stress people not to get Nextel through Mall vendors,Clothing stores or
such.These people are more concerned on selling thier Fashion clothes,boots
or whatever their primary products and wares.

Good idea,and ask them who they are a subagent for.Who is thier Nextel
contact or regional Nextel rep.

I get frustrated myself at times with Nextel customer support and
service,but some of the direct sales people and regional reps are decent and
at least TRY to answer my questions or seek solutions.
