I had a 2000 873 G Bobcat skid steer loader stolen from my jobsite in
Atlanta, GA on Sunday evening September 14, 2003. The Bobcat had heating and
air, a smooth 73" bucket and about 2000 hours of use, also a weld on the
back door. The serial # is 514142054.

If anyone can give me information to promote its return there is a
substantial reward. No questions asked after it is returned. It has been
reported to the manufacturer and the new owner will never be able to get it
    serviced or repaired.

I have pictures available if need be.

    Please email me.

    Hey Mark,
Sorry to hear about your equipment being stolen. Check out ebay. Sounds a
little to simple, but equipment does show up there from time to time. I know
its a long shot, but its a quick easy way for someone to unload stolen
merchandise. Keep in mind they may paint the trailer too. If you find a
machine that is suspect, ask the seller via email about its maintenance
history. If they tell you it just came in on a trade or they just"bought" it
and do not know, that may indicate a *possible* suspect. Also, it may not
stay local, so I would not limit my search to local areas.

I probably didn't tell you anything you didn't already know, but mentioned
    it just in case.

I own a Skidsteer loader myself, so I feel for you.
    Good luck,
    Keith

Unless it's an idle threat that the new owner can never get it serviced
without the previous owner being notified, I would think by now it's been
broken down to parts or is in another country by now. If it doesn't turn up
quickly, chances are the one who stole it is a little smarter than the one
who lost it, and alot smarter than the one's in charge of recovering it.
Hope you have insurance. If not. Why not?

I buy and sell tools and equipment all the time. In fact reselling accounts
for about 50% of my income. I run ads in my local paper that basically say
"tools and construction equipment wanted, Cash waiting" and you would not
believe how many people call with items that are traceable and definitely
stolen. Some are bold enough to come right out and tell me its stolen. I
usually get their information and pass it onto the police. And get this,
after I gave one guys information to the police, he never put 2 and 2
together and called me again a few months down the road with another stolen
    item. (aluminum brake).

So, there is a possibility the Bobcat is still in one piece and local.

Maybe you're giving too much credit to the police. They probably never got
around to contacting him or never got past his answering machine.
