I was just wondering, what time do Nextel's night minutes start? I was
just in a mall in Bismarck, North Dakota, and Extend America is up and
running. The only two plans I was presented with as an end-consumer
(they apparently have different plans for businesses) are the following:

    39.99/month
    - 300 Anytime Minutes
    - 3450 Nights and Weekends
    - 250 Direct Connect(SM) Minutes
    - National Long Distance
    - 7 pm Nights

    49.99/month
    - 500 Anytime Minutes
    - 4250 Nights and Weekends
    - 250 Direct Connect(SM) Minutes
    - National Long Distance
    - 7 pm Nights

Canadian roaming is $0.20 per minute, including long distance, where
    applicable.

I was wondering how these plans compared to plans under the brand name
of Nextel. Extend America, which promotes "powered by Nextel" as Nextel
brand recognition, owns infrastructure but purchases switching services
from Nextel. The phones do not bear the Nextel logo (printed on the
phone), but the banner says "Nextel", and the Nextel logo is presented
when starting up. The representative I talked to said there should
probably be some new plans coming up right before Christmas, but did not
give a definite confirmation that new plans will be out.

Extend America just officially went "live" this month. Extend America
users can roam seamlessly on the systems of Nextel and Nextel Partners,
and vice versa, with no roaming charges. For more information on Extend
America, please call 877-897-6111 or visit http://www.extendamerica.com/

    Any thoughts?

    Re: Nextel Plans

Can Nextel use Extend America's towers? If so they I think you should go
with a plan with Nextel. You can get a better plan for the money that way.

Yes, Nextel users can use Extend America's towers. However, if I chose
a plan with Nextel, I would have to register a number from a different
state, and nobody around where I live would be able to have a local
    number to call.
