And here on Long Island, no one notices when a new store opens. A

    Off topic, but...

As a former retail store owner, I'm always surprised at the stupidity
of shopkeepers. Why would you not allow those Ikea shoppers to park
in your lot? Best case scenario, they might notice/stop into your
store at some point in their shopping frenzy (perhaps preferring to
window shop awhile than to fight gridlock!), worse case scenario they
don't bother, but you can hit their car with a flyer or leaflet
advertising a great deal at your place while they're shopping. Many
of these folks will have ventured to the Ikea opening from well
outside their normal trade area and will likely return to Ikea in the
future, and the local merchants have acccess to these people and their
wallets for the first time! Instead of making a good first
impression, they are the bastards who forced you to walk an extra six
    blocks! Arrgh!

When I used to own a Cingular (indirect) store, the management of our
plaza approached me and told me another cellular dealer wanted to move
in, but my lease gave me a right to refuse a direct competitor.
'Bring 'em on!' I told them- I was confident my product was as good or
better than anyone's, and having the competition close would actually
help- most wireless customers (smartly) don't want to commit to a
contract before checking out all the carriers. I fifured the more in
my plaza the better- if the customer could check everyone out wit out
getting back in the car, the more likely I'd hook them. If the leave
to check out the competition, there's no guarantee that if they
eventually chose Cingular that they'd come back to me instead of the
next Cingular store they drove by.

The reason was that the massive number of Ikea customers would fill every
space, leaving no parking for their regular customers.

Because someone going to your store to purchase from your store will
be unable to park, and hence, probably go somewhere else. You loose
    business.

I will NEVER give my business to a company that 'leaflets' cars.
Annoys the hell out of me - and then half of them end up being on the
ground. And someone has to clean them up.

Not terribly likely, given the crappy coverage in this area, but you keep on

Is Dublin one of the top 100 markets? Or do you combine it with
Pleasanton to get into the top 1000 markets?
