    Depends;

    a mbus or a f/mbus cable can be used to upload ringtones/logos etc and
    unlock
    a fbus cable can only be used to upload ringtones/logo's etc

    Simon - i just rechecked the info i got for cable and found the
    following....

    SPECIFICATION

    a.. FBus / Mbus @ DAU - 9P compatible
    b.. Standard 9 pin serial connection to PC / Laptop
    c.. Transfer rate up to 115200 Kps -
    I assume this means it will unlock - once i find some software..

    Yes Dave, that cable will be fine for unlocking! Have a look for "b-phreaks
    EEProm Tools v3.1".

    3310 unlocking tool

    Try using Rollis Nokia Tools v1.8 (working with XP). I have used this program to unlock 3310s in our place with no problem. Use the Options/Autosetup to connect your phone. Have fun!
