Don't buy CELLULAR ESSENTIALS!!!
I have two licences which permit four computers. If you upgrade your PC
hardware or say make your 30MB a D and add a 60MB C the software licence
will fail. If you register the software on the wrong phone you are locked
out and cannot write to the phone (not even left in demo mode). If you
re-register again by SMS it will fail because you have used your two
licences up.
So if you lose your key file you have to explain that too.
Then you have to endure days of negotiation - if he even bothers to write
back trying to get your key sorted out. This time he hasn't. So
basically I have three pcs operational with there keys backed up. I even
went as far as buying an extra licence before in order to humour this guy
when I wanted to install on one more PC that I were allowed. He doesn't
respect your custom in my humblist of opinions. If my hardware breaks, ie
say a drive dies those PCs will also fail their licences. You don't have
time to chase people here. While I respect the idea of the protection,
it's no good if it locks legitimate owners out their own purchases.
People ranted about Oxygen in the past, but I had a problem with my update
key not returning, mailed them my info and I had a new one back for the
latest 2.2 version in the hour (very nice incidentally, like the flashy
scrolls!!!). And as Mike of LM fame knows me, not had any problems with
him and keys either. I shall purchase Mike's new SMS tool soon and use
that instead (just waiting for the SMS to be better first).
Don't get me wrong, CE is an excellent program, but the protection is just
too much for the few things in it, I used it for. I hope Mike makes the
phonebook and sms reading etc work as well as CE does and I would advise
Mike and Oxygen to look at how this works in his demo and make similar
tools, because then I would buy that. I've owned CE for a good while, but
I do tend to redo my systems periodically. And I've had nothing but
trouble with the keys. Ok he did improve it a little by enabling you to
save a unique file to register quick which works great, but it is useless if
you upgrade any hardware. I don't want to purchase sw that works like that
and won't in the future - especially if the programmer won't even contact
you...

Ok, ok, I meant GB!

If you purchase a new licence of two PCs, one is used already. Later you
register the other on the wrong phone - Ie I used a 3410 first time, then
sent the SMS on a 3510i for the second.

If your hardware has changed, kicking out the key, you can't send a new SMS
to re-register on the new hardware. This may be obvious reasons, but your
two licences are used up. Your file doesn't work now for speedy register.
You have to chase him up.
When the registration fails you are locked out of demo mode also. So
basically you have to chase Herbert Demmel for him to allow a new entry on
the server, no reply and have to send files back and forth in order to
unlock your software. Or you can get so pissed off you just format Windows
and reinstall over leaving CE off it!!! Which is what I have done.
Was not very clear here...see above amendments...
Has anyone else used this sw and found the registration pisses you off?
