I've been to the vodafone.com.au site, had settings sent to my phone, all
seemed fine .. but gprs still fails, and i cant send MMS .. Could it be that
I need it activated or something? I'm on an ancient plan from
mobileinnovations.com.au, who's site has NOTHING about gprs or mms ..
Any ideas?

The problem is you will need to update your SIM card, an old SIM card is not
compatible with GPRS and MMS.
When I got a new Vodafone, they changed the SIM for that reason.

Not at all. I have a SIM card that is now five years old and works well -
from my old Alcatel, to a Nokia, T39m, Nokia 3650, P800. no problems.
Have you been to http://wireless.vodafone.com.au or to the main website?

Re: vodafone australia GPRS/MMS Settings?
Lord-Data,
I had a similar issue with the largest carrier is Aus,
The solution was for their techies to request the settings direct from the
Nokia site!.
After this it worked straight away. (Techies could not explain why their
'settings' did not work).
I just did a search & found the URL for the page they must have used
http://www.nokia.com.au/nokia/0,8764,49627,00.html
If it works you owe me a beer.
