    Hi,

    I have a Nokia 6310i, firmware version 5.51.

I always lock the keypad, but have some problems. Sometimes the phone
goes into some menu while it is locked and when I manually exit the
menu, it is locked again (or still)!

This is very annoying, since the phone has been sending SMS's and
e-mails (one time 19 in a row), without me interfering.

I've returned it to Nokia two times already and they just flash the
same firmware in again. This doesn't make a difference.

Does anybody know how to solve this?

    Thanks a lot,
    Tim

Are you using a car kit?
I've found that if you initiate a call or SMS while in the car kit
the lock will not re-engage until all the phone menus are exited.

If you're using a CARK-91 the lock should re-engage when you remove the
phone from the cradle. Sometimes I've noticed it doesn't but a couple of
presses of the red hangup key does the trick.

The description above is without using a car kit. What you describe
happen as well when I used the car kit (I don't anymore, since I don't
    get sound anymore)

This happens if you consciously or accidentally press some keys while on a
call. The keypad will not lock until you exit the menus or clear whatever
is on the screen and return to the operator name or logo.

I know, I've noticed the same behaviour when in the car kit, but this
is not the behaviour I'm referring to. It also happens after
    conciously locking the phone manually.
