At best. A lot of people don't pay attention to traffic at all for
    large parts of the conversation.

Sure it is. 1) You're used to concentrating almost all of your
attention on phone conversations. 2) A passenger who's paying
attention to traffic can warn you about traffic changes if your
    attention wanders.

Sounds good to me, as long as the passenger can't talk to me, either.
    Passengers suck.

I'd tend to guess most people don't understand the difference between
    ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.

Passengers who suck is a good thing, providing that they are female.

Passengers who suck may be good things, but they still cause a lot of
    accidents.

They may know, that doesn't necessarily mean they'll shut up..! Come on my
bus when the schools are chucking out, 80 screaming kids are a damn sight
more distracting than any phone call..!

If it works inside the box, which after all has a lot of big glass holes in
it, it's easier than connecting a wire every time you get in and removing
    it when you get out.

I've been thinking about getting an external antenna, but I think I'd only
bother to use it on long trips.

Ow good, another person that is isolated from the truth.
Someone that the aliens can experiment on,
and the government can use mind control on.

If you want to save your self, search for "art bell" on google.
And get you one of them black helicopter detectors.

Earlier this month after a several foot snowfall, and if the forecast
    holds, Monday, after another snow.

    Next dumb question.

Even non-ionizing radiation, at the frequency of the hydroxyl
molecule, can cook meat. When it's done deliberately the device is
    called a microwave oven.

And the skull focuses 450 MHz at the crown at just about the top of
    the brain stem.

But 800 MHz and 1900 MHz are fairly innocuous. (Unless the power
level is high enough. 600 watts on a finger can hurt.)

That's what mobile kits are for - making it easier to attach and
    detach the power and antenna.
