Hah. I can answer this one... 'bout 4 hours ago, to drive through the 2
foot snow bank blocking the entrance to my road (snow plows are clearing
main streets first, left a snow bank in place until they come back to
    fix it)

Well, maybe not... But I suspect that they don't drive for long.

My snowblower does that, and for a lot less money that an SUV. It
also cleans down to the pavement.

Indeed. What good would that do though when it's -30 to -40 out, my
house was still a few blocks away, and even if I had one, I couldn't
ride the snowblower to pick up kitty litter at Walmart either?

    When it's -30 out, I'm in.

I make sure I have everything I need before it starts snowing. That's
one of the things that separates us from the caterpillars.

Sounds like someone who'd appreciate this eBay auction:

Check his other auctions, too. Myself, I'd bid on the snow, but I already
have enough. Just got another 2 or 3 inches today.

Is there a mobile kit for the 4400?

Honestly, I take the bus most of the time. I don't have an issue
walking out to the bus and going from there.

However, bringing cat litter home via the bus is not fun.

We have everything essential for survival here, assuming utilities don't
die (which is reasonable here, for the most part)

I think that's still illegal in New York. The law doesn't say

I'm pretty sure there is - check in a Verizon store.
