Ok guys, yesterday I managed to send out my first fax using my Ngage as the
Fax Machine and my PC to control it.

And it works great

Ok to get your Ngage to work as a Fax you'll need the Nokia Modem Options
software. You can get it here
http://arena.n-gage.com/n-gage/web/e...ware_modem.jsp

or on the N-Gage CD but its better to get the latest versions off the net.

Now you'll need to assign a Com port (I use Com 12) as your Fax Com Port. To
do this find the Modem installed in Device Manager under Modems (should be
called 'Nokia N-Gage (Bluetooth)' and click properties...modem and find the
right com port.

Next you need some fax software, I used Winfax Pro 10

Once installed you don't even have to connect any serial port or anything.
Once a Fax is started it automatically connects to the N-gage and sends it
out all seamlessly.

I installed the Winfax Software, assigned the Nokia N-gage (Bluetooth) Modem
as the main modem, and I tested a Fax.

When it was ready to send it connected automatically with the N-gage and
began dialling...a minute later the fax was confirmed as recieved.

Cheers

I can also confirm that you can use your this new install as a Dial-Up Modem
too. I dialled into my ISP yesterday too by making a Dial-Up Networking
connection and using the 'Nokia N-Gage (Bluetooth)' modem.

And it worked a charm, connected and cruised the net using a dial-up
account.

I should also mention that you need to go into Control Panel...Nokia Modem
Options...select The Ngage and select the speed using the slider and press
'OK' I set it at 14.4Kbps as GSM doesnt rate higher although I will be
testing it and posting the results.
