Hi, about half a year ago I had the "No network" problem with my Nokia
6310i. If I removed the battery for a while, the telephone worked OK for
some time. After removing the battery for 24h it looked like the problem had
disappeared. But to be sure I brought the phone to a Nokia service center.
They did a software upgrade under warranty.

But now, half a year later, and unfortunately 4 months out of warranty this
problem pops up again. Removing the battery now has no effect. Nokia says it
    costs 115 Euro ti repair!

Is there someone who knows to repair these phones and can give a hint what
most of the time causes this problem? Is it a bad connection or is it not so
simple, I am very curious. I repair a lot of A/V equipment and want to take
a good look at the phone before trashing it.

No, I think the RX calibration is faulty (this should be done with the
Phoenix software according to the service manual). At first I was suspecting
a bad solder connection. I used a temperature controlled blower to
"resolder" the complete PCB at once with 400C hot air (yeah I know it's like
shooting with a gun on a fly). But this worked OK! The phone worked
inmediately after this. Unfortunately it stopped working after about 4
hours, having the same problem again. I repeated the blower trick (on the
26MHz/Mjoelner ASIC part) and it worked again. Now it works already for the
whole day. According to the manual the RX calibration is quite sensitive for
temperature and humidity, therefore I think this calibration should be done
again. If someone knows where to get the Phoenix software or has more
information about this calibration, please tell me!
