    Hi -

    I have a web site with freeserve http://greencoffee.mysite.freeserve.com

    greengate90

    I have some simple wap code on the site already but can't access it with a
    wap browser. Just get the message card empty

    Questions are:

    Can my website host wap content?

    Does the web server deliver the correct content-type header(s) when a wap
    browser (or emulator) requests the WML content?

    If not, how do I configure the web server to handle WML files? The MIME type
    is text/vnd.wap.wml but I am not sure how to deliver this code to the web
    server. I mean do I just up load it where the wml files are?

    Help appreciated - Paul King [email protected]<spam not>.freeserve.co.uk

    Most webspace providers support web-server configuration via .htaccess.
    Create a file called ".htaccess" (without " but the . is mandatory) with the
    following content:

    AddType text/vnd.wap.wml wml
    AddType image/vnd.wap.wbmp wbmp
    AddType text/vnd.wap.wmlscript wmls
    AddType application/vnd.wap.wmlc wmlc
    AddType application/vnd.wap.wmlscriptc wmlsc

    Now you can create your test.wml file and try to access it with you cellular
    phone:

    <?xml version="1.0"?>

    <!DOCTYPE wml PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD WML 1.1//EN"

    "http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/wml_1.1.xml">
    <wml>

    <card id="card1" title="Hello World!">

    <p>Hello world!</p>

    </card>

    </wml>

    Hi,
    I assume that you have got constant internet. You could do a good deed and download a great program called DotWAP 2.0 from the net(it's free). It makes creation of WAP sites very simple and does it in the proper format too. Then you could publish your wap-site to the required address. That DotWAP is extremely simple to use once you get hang of the interface.

    ok, results so far...

    Niels - tried the .htaccess file but once uploaded the file name
    ..htaccess caused an error. It seemed to be an invalid file name..
    Again, I do not know where to upload it to exactly; so it is in the home
    directory of mysite.

    Ski_power - got dotwap2.0 but it appears to tie me to the tag-tag site which
    I am not keen on...anyway still evaluating..
