6610 flashing keypad

Over the last few weeks my Nokia 6610's (V4.18) keypad lights have started
flashing and dimming - with the keylock on or off. It does this with the
battery full or almost dead - is this a known problem and is it fixable?
I bought it around August last year from CPW but don't have any insurance
for it.

i have had the exact same problem and its now fixed after a firmware
upgrade. take the phone to your nearest service centre and get the
firmware upgraded to the latest for free.
