I will be buying my first contract phone.

What info do I need to take into the shop, so that I can get the phone -
bank statement, driving licence etc ?

    Thanks

Yup, usual stuff. Take three forms of ID (just in case), some things with
your address on them like utility bills and a credit card may come in handy
    too.

My advice is not to go into a shop, but I stand to be corrected. Why not go
directly through Vodafone's website? I did and I dont regret it. I bought
my 6600 from them and the contract "online 100" for £15/month. No one else
could match it. The retail stores wanted at least £22/month for the same
    contract.

With Online 100 I get 100 mins anytime calls and £6/month of free SMS/MMS
all for £15. The phone was competitively priced too. While you may get the
phone cheaper with a contract in-store you have to work out over the course
of a year what your savings will be. Mine were considerable. If I bought
mine in-store, yes, the phone may have been cheaper but I would have to
spend £13/month more to get the same contract (£7 more for main tarrif and
£6 more for the bolt on SMS/MMS bundle).

Note you can only have this tarrif by purchasing online hence "Online 100".
There are other packages too that may suit you better. Cut out the middle
man - thats my advice. I got my phone in two days with a number of my own
    choosing.

Now someone tell me I'm wrong!

Bought mine online (AT&T) saved $200, got a free car charger, and had
    it in a few days.

Credit card only, and the contract was sent by mail.

Plus I had a 30 day grace period, if I wasn't happy I could send it
    back.
