Hi!
anyone using the headset with this phone? If yes, what's the battery
capacity like? Manual says it should run ca 60 hours on standby. My head set
usually doesn't last for a whole day. Thanx!

Re: Nokia 6600 and HDW-2
Alfred, Hi.
I'm NOT running the HDW2, but his may/may not be relevant??
I have a 3650, and use it along with a Jabra BT200. With the 3650 and BT200,
I am able to use the earpiece all day long, and the battery STILL ISN'T
running flat by 23:00 (and that inlcudes talktime of maybe 90 mins). I
normally re-charge the Jabra overnight, so it's readu for full use the next
day, but if I DON'T charge overnight, then it is still good for use the
following day, going flat about 18:00 (again including quiye a bit of talk
time.
I bought a 6600. The Jabra works with the 6600 BUT I only get about 12 mins
talktime!!. I thought I was paranoid at first, so I re-set my call timers,
and checked out the following day, and found the Jabra was going flat by
about 12:00 (mid-day), and I had only had about 12 mins talk time.
After finding this a couple of times, I contacted Jabra.
The have released a "press statement" stating that the Bluetooth chips used
(which are the same used for all earpieces, for all phones) are fine BUT
their "technicians have found that the 6600 does not go into power save mode
(sniff mode), and therefore the 6600 is permanently in a FULL bluetooth
connection. This has been reported to Nokia, and awaits a Nokia software
update, but it is unknown whether Nokia will address this issue, although it
is a known "flaw" with the 6600".
Now, after me whaffling on about the BT200, I don't know whether this could
be similar with the HDW2 and the 6600 config.
In may be an idea to check out the HDW2 with a friend that has, say 6310i,
or 3650.
Of course I may be totally wrong with regard to the HDW2, but the above is
what I have found with a BT headset.
Good luck

Re: Nokia 6600 and HDW-2
Hi
I have had 2 of these headsets (one replaced under warranty) and the
second is back at a nokia repair centre now awaiting repair /replacement,
There seems to be some compatability issues with this headset and the 6600,
mine would disconnect when i had an incoming call, get the battery low
warning beep after about 10 minutes talking, The quality of the sound was so
poor on both of them that it was impossible to understand anything that the
caller was saying, also the battery would not last a full day on standby,
personally i would stick with the jabra 12 minutes of quality talktime is
better than the 20/30 minutes i was getting on the hdw-2 `and you don`t have
to keep looking for the battery cover on the jabra and replacing the ear
pieces.
(sorry if this sounds like a rant but i had a lecture off the police on
friday for tryng to connect a wired headset to my phone whilst driving
because the hdw-2 had decided to disconnect while trying to answer a call
again)

Re: Nokia 6600 and HDW-2
I can't say it's bad.
My HDW-2 lasts 48 hours before going flat and I am using it about 3-4 hours
a day when I drive.
The real problem is the weakness of the ear-clip.
In switching the clip from left to right ear a few times I broke 2 clips in
3 months and they're really hard to find as spares here in Italy.

Re: Nokia 6600 and HDW-2
Thanks for your feedback, Tommy.
It's just a pain in the butt, that the 6600 BT200 combo don't last much on
talk time. BT200 would last all day, with 90+ mins talk with the 3650 and
6310i, but there is (as preciouslt stated) a compat problem with the 6600
power save.
With regard to the Nokia HDW-2. I had about 4 of these (for use with my
6310i, and 3650 before the 6600), but found that it was quite uncomforatble
to wear, and (as you state) the sound level/reception was cr*p. Each time I
took it back to CPW they exchnged for another unit, but in the end I thought
it a pointless excercise. The Jabra (in my opinion) is better build quality,
more comfortable, more sturdy, audio better. Pain in the arse (at the
moment) with the compat issue.
Cheers again

Re: Nokia 6600 and HDW-2
Hi
Sorry to hear you all have so much problems with HDW-2. I'm very satisfied
with it in conjuction with N6310i. No problems at all.
Like Biagio.
