6600 Nokia TOO QUIET

Does anyone else have the problem of not being able to hear the phone
ringing
volume and sms volume especially when in another room or in pocket or where
there is a lot of background noise.

Profile is set to General and volume setting is set to maximum.

I have gone through all the selected sounds that come with the phone and
none are loud enough. Any solutions much appreciated.

Yes, but I have the same or even more problems with other (smaller) phones
in such a case. In a noisy surrounding I find the vibrating usefull when I
wear the phone on my body.
