I picked up a Nokia 6230, which is rated for 150-300 hours standby time and
    3-5 hours talktime.

I'm actually getting closer to 75 hours total battery life, with maybe 1 or
2 calls of a couple minutes maximum.
I'd be interested in hearing what other 6230 users are getting.

Take it to a Nokia Service centre and have the battery tested (some people
have gotten new batteries this way), many people are getting very much less
than is published your not the only one.

    Joe,

Funnily enough, I did take it in last week and they replaced it right away.
I assumed this would fix the problem, but it occurs with the new battery as
well. I was wondering if the phone itself has something wrong, which leads
it to expend batteries faster than it should.

I have had bluetooth on, but I noticed with my wife's phone (a 6310i...which
has exceptionally good battery life) it doesn't seem to have too much
effect. Will try turning it off though, to see what it does with this
    phone.

The bluetooth seems to vary... I've got a 6820 and the bluetooth doesn't
affect it, my dads phone (not a nokia) lose the battery fast with bluetooth
    on...
