midi format for 6820

I have some short MIDI clips that do not play on this phone.
Is there some way to convert these MIDI's to a format that the phone
understands?

Not sure for the 6820, but 6230 needs a particular format of MIDI. There is
a program that comes with Nokia Phone Tools (free download from Nokia.com)
that will convert it for you from a standard MIDI file)

Of course I meant 'Nokia PC Suite'

I've posted elsewhere in this group, as my 6820 is also having trouble
recognising some MIDI files. I've got a query in at Nokia who haven't been
very helpful up to now. I'm using the Nokia Sound Converter included in the
PC suite, but still no joy. Some work, some don't, no idea why. The
converted files play fine on a number of other manufacturer's handsets (Moto
and Sony Eric) so I'm none the wiser.

I'll post the answer here if I get one.
