Why does my phone occasionally recognise peoples mobile numbers and
correctly display the name of the sender yet with others it just puts
in the sending number???
I have checked the default settings for various numbers and they are
set for mobile numbers.
The only thing I can see which may be causing this is that certain
numbers come in with +44 instead of a 0. This is driving me nuts
HELP!!
Cheers

Re: Nokia 6600 text messaging
Steve,
The "normal" cause for this is in having a duplicate number within your
phone book, SOMEWHERE..
eg// Dave 01234 567890 and another entry of DaveT 01234 567890. Phone gets
confused, don't know which one to present, so as a safety feature (and to
stop the phone exploding in your hands - okay I lied about this bit!), it'll
just display the number.
Check it out
Cheers

Also, newer firmware seems a lot better at getting this right. Older
firmware seemed sensitive to numbers matching exactly, etc.

It also identifies the caller by the last 8 numbers so, in my case, it
happened when I had a number with the +44 prefix and one without.
