Nokia 6600 Startup handshake problem

Hi, I've got a problem on my Nokia 6600.

I turn on the phone and it boots up etc, it then has the "nokia handshake"
with the short jingle sound when it performs this, but sometimes it stops
half way into the musical jingle.

I'm on Orange and just after the handshake the Orange logo type screen
appears.

Sometimes it doesn't do it and it plays the jingle all the way but most of
the time it does do it, it's very annoying, any ideas anyone?

Firmware problem, apparently. Mine does the same. Frankly after the
problems I had till recently syncing this phone to a PC, a spluttering
jingle is the least of my worries.

I don't know why but it's normal, when you get the prompt to enter pin, let
it there untill the light closes, enter pin and you will hear the entire
melody, it just take a wile for the entire melody to boot and therefore it
dosn't play entirely if you enter pin right when it asks you.

Have you tried changing the settings on the phone, and turning off the
welcome jingle?
I have a 7600, and the path is:

Settings|Phone Settings|Start-Up Tone|Toggle on/off.

Might be worth a try?

Same here, brand new v4.09.1. The welcome jingle is cut off after less than
a second. And the screen stay white with Nokia at the bottom for a long
while.

You must have some buggy apps. installed on your phone.They clashing for
memory access..It only happens sometimes only because they all getting
loaded differently..Purify your phone(*#7780#) then all will be well..
