Synchronization issues with 6600 and PC Suite - Failed to open Outlook

I am posting this as there doesn't seem to be any answers for this
particular problem on the internet or usenet.

If you are trying to synchronize your contacts/calendar with PC Suite
and you are running Outlook 2003 and Windows XP Service Pack 2, then
you will get an error message when trying to synchronize that says
"failed to open outlook".

After talking to technical support it appears that this is an issue
with Windows XP Service Pack 2 and PC Suite doesn't support this.

Just thought other people might like to know this.

Nokia plan on releasing an update to the nokia PC suite at some stage
that is compatible with SP2, but we'll just have to wait and see.

i don't have this problem. running xp pro sp2 and outlook 2003 sp1,
syncs no prob with my 6600.

No problem here now installed mrouter beta3 and works fine with my 6600
Running XP home SP2 & Outlook 2003

Are you, by any chance, running Outlook against a Exchange Server-based
mailbox? I am getting exactly the problem you describe but it happened
before applying SP2. It doesn't happen on a PC running XP SP2 with Outlook
XP (aka 2002).

Don't, BTW, be suckered by the completely unfounded claim from Oxygen -
there product doesn't work in these circumstances either - and they have
acknowledged this in their forums. This is a convenient piece of amnesia on
their part.

Yes, I am trying to synchronize this against an exchange mailbox.

It was working before SP2, albeit with the little "do you want to
allow access to Microsoft Outlook" window every time you synced.

Are you guys who ARE getting it working, using Mrouter beta 3? If so,
where can I get this from to give it a try?

I tried to get the Oxygen phone manager to work, but it wouldn't work
either.

Nokia Tech support have admitted that it is a problem with the current
version of PC Data Suite and SP2. So unless mrouter 3 works, I'll
just have to wait until they release an update.
