Is there a way i can reset the phone back so that it completely wipes
everything on it so it's back as if i've just loaded the firmware on it?
Also is there a site i can download the latest firmware for my phone?
Ideally i'd like to update it which i can pay $45 to do, but the phone is
only worth $100 so i don't see it really being worth it. I have the nokia
data cable, so if i can do it myself then i will... i like to think i'm
pretty cluey about this sort of thing
Thanks in advance for any help

You can't update firmware with a data cable. To do the job properly
requires equipment worth more than the phone, which is not cost effective
unless you plan on doing it for a living..! Pay the charge, or if the
phone is actually working and doesn't *need* an update, leave it alone..!

Re: Nokia 8310 Hard Reset
hmmm... i thought that might be the case. Every 4-6 months for some reason
my phone wipes all the numbers and call registers. I have them backed up on
my PC most of the time but it ****s me still. I have 2001 firmware on the
phone, and thought that maybe an upgrade would fix the problem. It's not
really worth the $45, as the phone is only worth $120... although it would
be a handy phone as a spare. Got me thinking now - I'll hunt around to see
if there are better prices.
