    Hi,
I recently upgraded from a 6210 to a 6310i. I use the Nokia provided PC
Suite software to backup my SMS messages and to synch my contacts etc.
When I upgraded I naturally upgraded the PC Suite software to the latest
version (4.88 as provided with the 6310i). I have no trouble connecting
to the phone using either Bluetooth or cable but the Phone Manager
utility does not appear to see all of the phone's message memory. After
moving all message shown in Phone Manager to the PC, the status bar
still shows a number of messages as being on the phone - although Phone
Manager is unable to display them. There usually are, sure enough, a
number of messages in the phone's Outbox - but usually around half the
number reported by Phone Manager's status bar. These remaining messages
are completely inaccessible via Phone Manager. I've also noticed that
Phone Manager does not show the 6310i's Archive folder.
Nokia assure me that there is no problem with the software. The problem
is exactly the same with my wife's newly acquired 6310i so I do not
think it is a phone fault.
Just wondered whether anyone else had come across this. And if Nokia
are unable, or unwilling, to address the problem does anyone know of any
third-party software that will comprehensively read the 6310i and allow
me to backup SMS messages in particular.

    Thanks.

Are you using a cable or IR with data suite? If you're using a cable
    which cable are you using?

Last version is 6.4. 4.88 is really old. The last version can be
downloaded from www.nokia.com. However, deinstalling old PC suite
versions is a real pain. I had to manually edit the registry to
    deinstall my old 5.1. :-(

I could not backup some messages from my 6610 to a 6610i, but those were
messages sent by the network with funny sender data (sending number was a
name, not a number). I thought PC suite might not like that.

You could try Mobius/PX or Oxygen phone manager.

I've tried Bluetooth and cable - the cable I use is the DLR-3P as
    supplied by Nokia.

Thanks Johan. Nokia tell me that PC Suite 4.88 is the latest version
which is compatible with the 6310i. I'm going to have a look at
Mobius/PX and Oxygen Phone Manager as an alternative.
