In a few weeks, cell phone numbers are being released to
telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls on
cell phones. Call this number from your cell phone 888-382-1222.
It is the national Do Not Call list. It blocks your number for 5 years.

    Here's the online form:

How about telling where you heard that telemarketing companies are
going to start calling cellular number? If any telemarketing company
had any sense they'd know that their telemarketing call to a cell
phone costs the recipient money and is forbidden by law. If you're
going to spread **** get it at least right.

Why did you only choose the older of the three for your reference?

The NJ article is dated 12/7/04
and the Miami-Ft Lauderdale is dated 11/23/04

And what does the fact that the FCC issues a generic warning to
telemarketers have to do with the fact that it is very likely and most
probable that the telemarketing industry will reach wherever they can.

I see in a later post that another person got some calls. Not only have
I gotten them, but still get an occasional fax attempt as well and the
carrier was unable to trace it.

Hmmm ... what a convenient way to discredit very reputable sources.

By "old", I take it that you're referring to the following URL:

which was last updated on Oct. 13, 2003 as of today.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the article,
you will see copyright dates of:

"Copyright 2003 The McGraw-Hill Companies Inc. All rights reserved."

    and

"Copyright © 2004 The McGraw-Hill Companies Inc. All rights reserved."

Who knows, with 2005 just around the corner,
they might add another copyright year.

So long as the information still applies,
    who cares about the date?

    Because I don't think that's the case.

I have never received either a telemarketing call or an SMS spam* on my VZW
phone. Of course, I never use SMS, so my number isn't flying around the
internet in the form of an email address.

*I did once receive what appeared to be a spam, in Spanish, but posts on
a.c.v from others who got the same one indicated it actually came from VZW
itself, and I was never charged for receiving it.
