Irritating Icon on 3510i

Hello group - I have a problem that someone might be able to help me with...
Bought a 3510i today, got it home, charged it up, and instantly began
fannying around with various functions without glancing at the manual - now,
after various ill advised operations I have an icon on the top right of the
screen which looks something like a thumbtack (just to the left of the time)
and which I want rid of!

Any advice?

Sounds like it could be the alarm clock - check you haven't got an alarm
set..! In any case, it will go off sometime within 24 hours..!

....or possibly a to-do-note/calender note with an alarm set on it? Same icon

No, a calendar alarm won't show an icon.
