nokia 6600 can anyone help me??

Ive just brought a nokia 6600 on ebay.
originally it was on orange but i paid for the codes to unlock it for o2!
When i recieve a message it comes up with a number not the name- eg
+4412345678901
instead of 'Paul'
Could anyone tell me how i can change this so when i recieve a message it
tells me who its from via name NOT number.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Make sure in the details in the phone contacts list that you have "paul" as
the first name, not the last. The 6600 has options for first and last name,
if you add your directory from a sim in a previous phone it sets them all
under last name.

Another cause for this is often that you have the number in the phone
book under two names. The phone will not display a name then.

maybe the numbers are stored on the sim card and in the phone. if a number
(or only the last 7 dgits) exists twice, only the number will be displayed
