If you get yourself a Bluetooth dongle for your laptop you can connect
    to it that way.

I assume you have a Wi-Fi card in your laptop, but you can't use that
    to communicate with the 6230.

About £20 for a USB dongle.

    >and y do they give u a cd, if u have no way to connect to it?

They do normally, but if you have Windows XP SR2 you may not need the
    drivers supplied with the dongle.

They 'give you the option to choose your preferred method of connection'.
Read: 'go out and buy a Nokia cable for $$$' The CD is a carrot to say 'hey,
    go connect to your pc'...

Alternatively, some PCs and (most?) new laptops already have infrared
and/or bluetooth ready installed. My Acer laptop has iR and is acceptable
    for connecting to my 6230.....

You can also use Infra Red. Cable is much cheaper and faster. eBay about a
    fiver.
