I have a old Nokia 3410 which I have bought a prepay sim for it to be used
by the Mother-in-law.
I used the phone until I upgraded last year (O2 through Carphone warehouse)
and I bought the Simcard today from an O2 outlet.
The 3410 keeps asking me if for a security code.
I can find no trace of this on the box or manual, except for '12345' which
does not work.
the sim pack says to use '0000' or '5555' but these are no use.
Does the 3410 need unblocking, or have I to contact O2 or CPW to get help?
TIA

If it definitely says "security code" rather than PIN code or PUK, then
the default is indeed 12345. If that doesn't work then you or someone else
with access to the phone has changed it.
If it was originally on O2 and you want to put an O2 card in it, then it
won't need unlocking (although doing this never hurt..!)
Does it work with your original SIM card..?

Re: Pre pay sim not working
"Confirmed - it reads 'Security Code',
and it works with original Sim card.
I have been an O2 and cellnet customer for 8 or more years, and every year
have upgraded through Carphone warehouse.
I have tried the Sim on my wifes phone (Nokia from O2) and same happens,
wants to know 'Security Code'.
I am totally baffled, I won't have time until Sat to go to a O2 outlet to
get it sorted.

Re: Pre pay sim not working
if you can link the phone to the computer somehow, there are programs to
read off the security code

I didnt have to say any password.
Ok you want MobiMB ( demo or full version both work) from
http://www.logomanager.co.uk/php/products.php?id=51 (demo selection is
up the top)
The you need a DKU-2 (normal usb to pop port cable) plug it in and mobi
mb should see the phone.
Once thats configured properly, download NkProfile V3 from
http://www.logomanager.co.uk/php/dow...hp?action=more
Run that and click phone info and hey presto,
Imei,
Software Version,
Security code.
