What's the deal now days with charging a phone for the first time.
I know years back they used to tell me in the shops to always give them a
full 24 hours for the firt charge.
Just got my new 6680 today and eager to get playing on it.
Manual doesn't say anything about duration of first charge. Does it still
need 24 hours or is it going to be OK if I tak eit off charge as soon as it
finishes?
Thanks

For the *initial* charge, give it 16 hours. Ignore any "fully charged"
messages. Do this also for the 2nd and maybe 3rd charges if you can. After
that it's not so important.
BTW never let a Li-Ion battery run totally flat, but don't keep topping it
up every 5 minutes either. Let it run to maybe 1 or 2 bars on the display
before charging it.

Sh*t! I found a page in the manual saying charge for 90 minutes for the
first charge, so I took it off charge and have been playing with it.

You probably haven't hurt it. Just give it a 16-hour charge now.
