I am using a Nokia 6620 and I had a few questions about how to set the
security key lock so I went to a corprate Cingular dealer at the mall.
A service Rep for Cingular looked at it as I was trying to explain my
questions .My phone is branded with an AT&T logo on the back , I bought it
off eBay and it was unlocked...It was a simple question about the Nokia
phone and he turned it into an AT&T / Cingular issue. He said that it is an
AT&T phone and I can't touch those.. I told him that he can accept my money
for being a paid Cingular customer but you can't help me with an ULOCKED
phone I bought off of eBay? Then he went into a shpeel about how Cingulars
Sim chip should not even work in that phone and the prick started taking the
back off it to look at the sim card. He was rattling on something about
8500megahertz or something.. I took the phone away from him and told him
that is funny, the phone works fine and your little ramble about megahertz
means nothing to me if the phone works fine... He said ,"Well. it
shouldn't." I told him I would go to the next Cingular shop down the hall
(they have NINE places in the mall.. AT&T stores and cingular stores
combined into all Cingular)
So my question is was this guy just blowing smoke up my ass or do these
unlocked phones that are branded for certain companies get better reception
when used with that company. IE: a cingular branded phone works better with
the Cingular company.. Or are they all just the same phone and this guy just
went to work with a hair across his ASS?

Thanks for reading this. Do you have an answere for me?

Craig
